Site Selection, a global investment informationwebsite, annually ranks the best countries,regions, and metros to invest in. In 2024, Seoul rose to the top ofthe metro category list for the first time. Among the countries, Korea took 9thplace.
The Global Best to Invest rankings are based on a combination of the following factors: capital expenditures (capex) and job creation, DHL Global Connectedness Index, country ranks in Milken Institute Global Opportunity Index, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)Global Innovation Index, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD) Inward Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Report, Institute for Management Development (IMD) World Competitiveness Rankings, and United Nations (UN) Human Development Index.
This achievement stems from the Seoul MetropolitanGovernment (SMG)'s efforts to improve the investment environment and enhancethe city's industrial competitiveness by creating Invest Seoul to become an“attractive destination for global investment.”
The SMG and Invest Seoul are not complacent. We will spareno effort to make Seoul a top-five global economic hub and attract more overseasinvestors and companies to the city.
