Designating the Foreign Investment Zone
- Foreign investment zones are areas designated and declared by mayors or provincial governors to
facilitate foreign investment
in accordance with the Foreign Investment Promotion Act
- Foreign investment zones operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government are classified into
service-type and individual- type zones.
Each type has different requirements, types of resident businesses, and incentives for investment.
Service-type

Areas (including buildings) for lease or transfer to foreign-invested companies in high-value-added
services such as finance, R&D, etc.

Requirements
- Foreign investment ratio of at least 30 percent
- Investing more than the total subsidy for building rent
Investing more than 100 percent of the land or building price corresponding to rental space, except for building rent
Details
- Rental fee : Up to 50 percent of the standard rental fee(security deposit not included)
- Duration : Within the occupancy agreement period, up to five years. Renewal of the occupancy agreement available one time only for the same period
- Payment : Ex-post settlement of rent on a yearly basis
