Since 2020, Invest Seoul has been participating in Expand North Star(ENS) as a representative of Seoul City, the largest ICT startup event in the Middle East/Africa, and flew to Dubai this year as well along with 10 promising companies in the ICT field.
ENS is a start-up specialized event of the ICT industry exhibition, GITEX with a 43-year history and it has a variety of programs, such as corporate marketing, IR pitching competition, business matching, and conferences.
The companies that participated in the ENS with Invest Seoul made good results in the IR pitching competition called “Supernova Challenge” every year, a company named SKIA took 1st place in the health tech & wellness disruptor field this year without fail.
Invest Seoul held a separate event inviting UAE-based investors so that Seoul ICT companies could make another IR pitching session. Even after the event, Invest Seoul plays a role of bridge between investors and companies to have meetings in-depth.
In recent years, there has been increasing interest and investment from the investors in the MENA area on Korean industry. In particular, there is a great attention in the bio/medical industry, and entertainment and game industry represented by K-content. As these are industries which the City of Seoul supports and fosters strategically, Invest Seoul will also create opportunities for more vibrant business collaboration between investors in the Middle East and Seoul-based companies.
