[ News ] Review on Cross-Border M&A Seminar

Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and co-organized by Invest Seoul and the Korea Venture Capital Association (KVCA), the 2023 Cross-Border M&A Seminar was successfully held on Wednesday, August 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.

 

The Cross-Border M&A Seminar was organized to expand brownfield investments by linking buy-side and seller-side, along with delivery of various strategies and implications for startup exits through presentations by M&A experts.

 

Surpassing the expected participants, total of 140 investors, M&A support organizations, prospective buyers and sellers, and related organizations gathered to show their strong interest in cross-border M&A.

  

 

The seminar began with an introduction of the organizers; Invest Seoul and the Korea Venture Capital Association.

M&A lectures were first given by Ms. Lee Ju-Young, Global Data M&A/IPO Specialist at Bloomberg Korea, who presented an overview of cross-border M&A, trends for 2023, and various M&A cases.

 

Mr. Steven Chung, Cross-Border CF and M&A Advisory Leader at Samil PWC, followed with a lecture on cross-border M&A procedures and strategies, key issues, and solutions.

 

 

After the lectures by the two experts, there was a short break and networking time, followed by presentations by the sell-side companies.

 

First company to present was A bio company “A” that uses data science to design problem-solving modeling composed of data combinations.

 

 

Second, “B”, a bio company that finds the cause of diseases based on cohort big data and artificial intelligence technology presented next and lastly an AI software company “C” that automatically converts and produces text into video content presented.
