500 Global

500

500 Global (which recently changed its name from 500 startups to 500 Global) is a global venture capital that invests early in founders building fast-growing technology companies. It was started in San Francisco, USA in 2010 and has been active in various regions such as Asia, Europe and South America.

Q. Please give a brief self-introduction.

Hello,I'm MinChi Park from 500 Global. We are a global venture capital firm that discovers and nurtures startups with potential, starting from the United States to all over the world, including Asia,Europe, and Africa. We entered Korea in 2015 and are currently preparing our second fund.

Q.How big is your investment in Korea and how many series are you running?

\ Seed

Angel Investor & Accelerator

Incorporation

Series A

First investment inventure capital

Marketing

Series B

Securing a certain amount of customers Follow-up investment for business expansion

Hiring

Series C-E

Investments to generate large-scale returns

Market expansion

IPO / M&A

A.The Korea Fund is about 300 to 500 million won, which is large enough to cover seed and pre-series A.Our fund model, unlike other seed investors, conducts initial investment and acceleration programs, matches with companies, and supports active follow-up investment if it is determined that there is a potential for rapid growth.

Q. What kind of company would you like to find in Korea in the future?

Saas

Software as a Service

A. The company we are looking for isstartup s that can draw so-called J-curve,and we think *Saas(Software as a Service) is a very good model.

In Korea, there are many marketplace and platform startup s,and i think a lot of time and resources are invested in the process of connecting consumers and suppliers. However,in the case of Saas,if a tool is created, everything can be solved within it,sol think it is a business with a continuous profit structure if it is well built.

1) J-curve:The budget cash flow of a startup indicates the amount of money input, the time it takes to generate sales, and the time required to break even(recovery of investment)

2)Saas:It is way of delivering applications over the internet as service, such as Google, MS Office, and Cloud, etc.

Q. If you could give some advice for domestic startup swho want to receive 500 global investment, what would it be?

A. I think it is important to maintain a continuous relationship for investment.Even if investment does not proceed immediately, entrepreneurs who continuously request feedback s or updates seem to be more interested.

If you look a tour website(https://500.co/get-in-touch),my e-mail can be found.Korean CEOs have difficulty sending e-mails, I think it would be goodto contact us comfortably through the site.
