Invest Seoul participated in the ‘Asian Finance Forum’ held in Hong Kong Convention Center as the first signal of its 2023 overseas investment attraction activities, for two days from January 11th to 12th.
The Asian Finance Forum(AFF), which celebrates its 16th anniversary this year, is an event co-hosted by the Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council(HKTDC). It is a place where influential global leaders in the economicfield gather to exchange economic outlook insight and information and to discover investment opportunities.
In particular, as this forum was held face-to-face for the first time in three years since COVID-19, more than 120 companies including Winkstone Partners, Prism 39, and Play V, as well as giant global financial companies such as HSBC, Bank of China, UBS, Prudential, as well as leading promising companies participated.
Invest Seoul held meetings with the China International Capital Corporation(CICC), the most significant investment bank in China, Citibank, the US Consulate in Hong Kong, Japan Fintech Association, who visited the event during this forum. In addition, it introduced various investment incentives and support programs to help global companies advance into Seoul, and promised follow-up support such as information on the Seoul market and matching with promising Korean startups.
At the same time, the Hong Kong Venture Capital Association, the Hong Kong Fintech Association, and the Startup Council under the Federation of Hong Kong Industry and Invest Seoul discussed holding seminars and IR events for Hong Kong-based Fintech companies wishing to enter Seoul through the meetings.
On January 13, local and global investors in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Fintech companies interested inentering Seoul, Korean companies participating in the AFF, Hong Kong Fintech Association and other relevant organizations were invited to attend the ‘Seoul Fintech Event’ at the Regal Hotel Hong Kong. The event was held to introduce Seoul’s investment environment, Seoul’s investment attraction policies, and the promising Korean Fintech startups.
Starting with the Hong Kong event in January, Invest Seoul plans to hold a variety of investment promotion events by inviting foreign investors to Seoul, as well as London, Portugal, Boston, Singapore, Japan, and Dubai.
