Since its launch in February, Invest Seoul has organized 3 times of seminars for current and would-be Seoul-based foreign-invested companies to promote Invest Seoul and provide a venue for businesses to exchange information. Here, we introduce the seminars held in 2022.
Business with Invest Seoul
Among them, the first seminar is the ‘Business with Invest Seoul’ that was held on July 29th at the Seoul Global Center International Conference Hall.
In the 1st session of the seminar, it was introduced Invest Seoul and provided information on Seoul Metropolitan Government’s foreign investment-related policies. The 2nd session continued with Seungkyu Byeon (Law Firm Seum) on matters to note when attracting foreign capital, and practical experiences shared by Co-founder, In-song Kim of ‘Dongne’ and ‘know-how on attracting foreign capital’. Finally, it was concluded with networking between participants.
Cross the Border with Invest Seoul
Next is Cross the Border with Invest Seoul, which was held at Lotte Hotel on October 12th, with the theme of Mergers and Acquisitions between companies.
More than 60 participants from Foreign embassies, Commercial offices, Foreign chambers of commerce in Korea, investment-related organizations, and financial institutions attended. The seminar was on topics of ‘Cross-country M&A status and activation plans’ by Joo Jeon, manager of Bloomberg Korea first. And the other was on ‘Strategies for differentiating local deals and cross-border deals and precautions when discovering deals, and actual cases of Inbound & Outbound M&A’ by Jae Seong Park, director of PWC Korea.
Seminar on Labor & Management
Lastly, on November 9th, the ‘Foreign Investment Company Personnel Management Seminar’ co-hosted by Invest Seoul and KLES(Korea Labor and Employment Service).
It is aimed at foreign-invested companies that have already advanced in Korea and companies planning to attract foreign investment. The seminar continued with 3 topics on ‘Increased investment and tax practice’, ‘Employment policies and support system of the new government’, and ‘The latest cases of human resources and labor practices.
It was a summary of seminars hosted by Invest Seoul in 2022.
